What is storytelling? It is the oldest form of spoken narrative, before ballads, the written story or the performed play, much like the tree trunk from which all branches grow. In other words, it is art, history, folklore and performance all blended together. In West Virginia, the West Virginia Storytelling Guild strives to keep this beautiful Appalachian tradition alive.
