For almost 30 years award-winning storyteller Katie Ross and her musician husband Otto have been presenting entertaining and interactive programs weaving stories and music together. They call their duo Stories by the Score. Katie invites the audience into a new world with her animated style. Otto‘s music whether it be on the accordion, banjo, or guitar makes folks feel like singing along or clapping to the beat. The couple specialize in inspirational, Appalachian, tall tales, Celtic, romantic, personal stories and multicultural folktales. They tailor their presentations to the needs of the organization inviting them to share. They keep in mind the purpose of the program and the ages of the audience (9-109 years old). They have performed for churches, festivals, special events, arts councils, schools, retreats and many virtual storytelling programs during the pandemic. They also give various workshops for those interested in the art of sharing stories. Currently Katie is the membership chair/vice-president of the West Virginia Storytelling Guild. Otto is the treasurer of the organization.
